Make-up Artistry
Purpose of this programme
The beginner makeup course, is excellent for the makeup enthusiast wanting to learn makeup techniques. From the hairdresser who owns their own business right through to beauty therapists who want to add makeup to their existing list of services, or the just the beginner wanting to learn makeup.
Kenako Jwale Skills in partnership with Ngcamane Hair and Beauty offers a variety of professional makeup courses that is unlike any other makeup courses or makeup schools in South Africa.
Our courses all about teaching our students real techniques, meaning we give you the real-life skills to perform a range of makeup techniques on real people, getting you industry-ready. As well as learning all about workplace health and safety and hygiene practices.
Students will be tutored by Noxolo Maseko a passionate Make-up Artist who loves to share knowledge so that every girl in this world enhances her beauty with the art of makeup.
We have various study options available and our courses are delivered over twelve weeks.
Our class options include daytime classes and weekend classes available as well as other flexible study options.
Due to the limited number of spots available we will enroll each student on a first come first serve basis.
NOTE: Models will also be required to work on from module 2 onwards.
Student Kits:
As part of any course, materials, tools and equipment must be used in order to take part in our courses.
DUE to COVID-19 all students must have their own working makeup kit for the duration of the course.
Ngcamane Hair and Beauty have a strict workplace health and safety standard for our trainers, students and clients.
Students can also opt in purchasing a small standard makeup kit or a Pro Kit.
Assessments:
This will be conducted on your final day of class by one of Ngcamane Hair and Beauty certified makeup trainers who hold there current (Certificate in Faciltation & Assessment) You will be assessed on the capability technical skill as well as observation.

- Face Charts
- Product knowledge/Tools/Equipment
- Foundations – Colour theory
- Contouring and highlighting/Face Shapes
- Corrective eye techniques, shadow application
- Shadow techniques
- Glamour/Classic Eye
- Cut Crease
- Red Carpet Glamour
Course Duration:
- 12 weeks course
- 20 students per class
- Monday and Tuesday : 9.00am -12.00am
- Saturday: 9.30am to 14.30pm
- Entrepreneurial Development (compulsory and included with the course).
Prerequisite:
Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age or over at the starting date of the course.
